About me
My name is Filio and this blog was born from a deep love—for Italy, its culture... and above all, its cuisine.
From a young age, I was captivated by the Italian language: its soft sounds, musical rhythm, and the world of beauty and art it evokes. During my university years, I had the chance to live in several Italian regions, but the true connection came later—when Italy stopped being something I studied, and started feeling like home.
That turning point came through my husband—Italian, excellent cooker and passionate about food and family traditions. Thanks to him, I discovered what it truly means to sit at an Italian table: not just to eat, but to share stories, memories, and emotions. Through his dishes, I tasted real Italian flavors for the first time—often simple, always rich in history.
From that moment, my curiosity became a passion. I wasn’t just interested in recipes—I wanted to understand the deeper layers: the rituals, the gestures, the stories passed down through generations. This interest led me back to the classroom. During a university lecture on Pellegrino Artusi, I discovered a whole new world: the cultural depth of Italian gastronomy. That lesson inspired my thesis, but also planted the seed for this blog.
Through PastaCarbonara, I want to share what I’ve learned—and what I keep discovering every day. Recipes, yes, but also the traditions, origins, and stories that make Italian cuisine so much more than just food.
Because cooking Italian isn’t just an act of love—it’s a way of expressing who i am.
